In Accordance To AS5369:2023:
The Spaulding Classification Scheme shall be used to categorize Reusable Medical Devices (RMDs) in health & non-health related facilities, applicable to the level of processing.
The Spaulding Classification Scheme has three categories:
A. Critical – requires sterilization.
B. Semi-Critical – requires sterilization or high-level disinfection.
C. Non-Critical – requires low-level disinfection.
